Flavor Fiesta 2026: Student-Led Social Entrepreneurship
At Manchester International School, learning goes far beyond textbooks and classrooms. It transforms into experiences, action, and meaningful impact.
This week, we — the PYP 5 Exhibition students — proudly present Flavor Fiesta 2026, a vibrant, student-led food stall initiative hosted in our school cafeteria. More than a celebration of flavors, this event reflects the core philosophy of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP): inquiry, agency, and purposeful action.
What is Flavor Fiesta?
Flavor Fiesta is our PYP Exhibition Group Action project — conceptualized, planned, and executed entirely by Grade 5 learners. From budgeting and pricing to marketing, operations, and teamwork, we have taken full ownership of this social entrepreneurship initiative.
Through this experiential learning opportunity at one of the leading IB schools in Coimbatore, we are developing:
• Entrepreneurial thinking
• Financial literacy and budgeting skills
• Team collaboration and leadership
• Communication and marketing strategies
• Real-world problem-solving abilities
This is education in action — the Manchester way.
Connecting Learning to the UN Sustainable Development Goals
At Manchester International School, global awareness is embedded into everyday learning. Flavor Fiesta aligns with key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
• SDG 2 – Zero Hunger
• SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
• SDG 4 – Quality Education
By organizing this event, we are not only raising awareness but also contributing toward a meaningful cause. Every purchase made supports a purpose larger than the plate.
A Tradition of Empathy and Impact
Flavor Fiesta is not a one-time event — it is a cherished annual initiative at Manchester International School, Coimbatore. The funds collected each year are thoughtfully contributed to projects that support underprivileged children, including contributions to pediatric cancer care foundations and community outreach initiatives.
This year too, we look forward to extending our support and touching lives beyond our campus. Through this journey, we are learning empathy, compassion, cultural sensitivity, and human connection — the future-ready competencies that truly matter in an evolving world.
Why This Matters
As an IB World School committed to student agency, Manchester International School believes that the PYP Exhibition is a milestone experience. It allows us to demonstrate:
• Inquiry-based research
• Conceptual understanding
• Action-driven outcomes
• Reflection and responsibility
Flavor Fiesta 2026 is a powerful example of how young learners evolve into confident, compassionate changemakers.
Our Hope as Young Changemakers
As we step into the cafeteria today, we carry more than menus and price lists — we carry hope. We hope our peers, teachers, and the entire Manchester community will not only enjoy the flavors but also recognize the intention behind every stall.
More than sales, we seek encouragement. More than appreciation, we seek belief — belief that young learners can create impact, lead with empathy, and build a culture of care.
Through Flavor Fiesta 2026, we are not just serving food.
We are serving purpose.
