        The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) is a transformative educational journey that empowers students aged 16 to 19. The DP Curriculum: A World of Knowledge and Inquiry

        The DP curriculum is comprised of six subject groups and the DP core, which includes Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), and the Extended Essay. These elements combine to create a holistic and intellectually stimulating program.

They develop their natural curiosity. They acquire the skills necessary to conduct inquiry and research and show independence in learning. They actively enjoy learning and this love of learning will be sustained throughout their lives.
They explore concepts, ideas and issues that have local and global significance. In so doing, they acquire in-depth knowledge and develop understanding across a broad and balanced range of disciplines.
They exercise initiative in applying thinking skills critically and creatively to recognise and approach complex problems, and make reasoned, ethical decisions.
They understand and express ideas and information confidently and creatively in more than one language and in a variety of modes of communication. They work effectively and willingly in collaboration with others.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK):

        In TOK, students reflect on the nature of knowledge and how we come to know what we claim to know. It encourages critical thinking and an exploration of different ways of knowing.

Extended Essay:

        The extended essay is an independent, self-directed research project culminating in a 4,000-word paper. It fosters research skills and allows students to explore a topic of personal interest in depth.

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS):

        CAS is a project-based component that encourages students to engage in creative, active, and service-oriented activities. It promotes personal growth, leadership, and community involvement.

Diverse Subject Groups: Nurturing Well-Rounded Scholars

        The six subject groups within the DP curriculum offer a wide range of disciplines, catering to varied interests and career aspirations. These subject groups include:

Choosing subjects in the
Diploma Programme

  • Students choose courses from the six subject groups; furthermore, they may opt to study an additional sciences, individuals and societies, or languages course, instead of a course in the arts.
  • Students will take some subjects at higher level (HL) and some at standard level (SL). HL and SL courses differ in scope but are calculated matching with the same grade descriptors, with students demanded to exhibit a better level of knowledge, understanding and skills at higher level.
  • Students must take at least three (but not more than four) subjects at higher level, and the remaining at standard level.
